Where have snapshots gone?

Snapshots were a feature of Workspace accounts that periodically took a copy of the files in your account. You could use these historical copies to recover deleted files and previous versions of files.

The snapshots feature was withdrawn on in Jan 2010 following the addition of file version history and recycle bin features to humyo accounts.  The file version history and recycle bin features deliver everything that Snapshots did and more. It's now even easier to restore, view and manage previous versions of files stored within your humyo online storage account.

When did Snapshots stop being made?
Snapshots were not made after 11th Jan 2010. We communicated advanced notification of this to our customers in Dec 2009.

What happened to my Snapshots?
Any snapshots in your account on 11th Jan 2010 were moved into your recycle bin. You will find them in your recycle bin in a folder called "Snapshots". You can leave them in your recycle bin from where you will be able to access the data if you need it. You are able to delete the snapshots from the recycle bin if you wish in order to free up spac.

So how do I activate the new file version history within my account?
File version history is automatically enabled in your account by default. It cannot be turned off.

How many versions do you store?
An unlimited number of versions of each individual file will be stored within your humyo online storage account.

How do I access previous file versions?
Previous versions are accessible within the humyo file manager, simply right click on the file and choose "Previous versions".

Does file version history have an impact on my storage quota?
Yes, all previous file versions stored within your humyo Premium or Workspace account will contribute to your total online storage quota. However, unlike snapshots which consumed your quota each time a snapshot was made regardless of whether a file had changed, versions only consume space when you change the file so they are far more efficient.

How does the recycle bin work?
Any time you delete a file it is sent to the recycle bin together with its previous versions. If you restore a file from the recycle bin it and all of it's previous versions will be available again in your account.
