Troubleshooting problems with Java
What is Java and why do I need it?
To enable some of the advanced features of the web file manager you need to have Java enabled on your computer. Java is a technology developed by Sun Microsystems that extends the capabilities of your web browser. We use it to enable you to upload/download multiple files at once, drag-and-drop files and folders from your computer to the humyo website and to edit files on the humyo website using applications installed on your computer. You can upload and download files one at a time on the humyo website without Java.
Troubleshooting problems with Java
When you try to use a feature of the humyo website that requires Java, you may see a message informing you that the humyo Java applet could not start.
- Make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer. You can download the latest version of Java for free at http://www.java.com/download. We also have a step by step guide to installing Java on your computer.
- Restart your web browser by closing all open browser windows and then re-opening the humyo web site. Try again to use the feature you require, if you are presented with a prompt to run the humyo application, but sure to click "Run". More information
- If the feature does not work after installing Java, or
if Java is already installed, check that Java is enabled in your web
browser configuration options then close and re-open your web browser
and try again.
What if I can't or don't want to get Java working?
Don't worry, you can still get the benefits of humyo.
- The easiest way to use humyo is to install humyo SmartDrive on your computer. SmartDrive makes your online storage space appear as an additional hard drive on your computer, you can drag and drop files to and from it and work with them in your applications without leaving your desktop.
- You can upload and download files one at a time through the humyo website without Java. Right click on a file and choose download or click the Upload button in the menu bar at the top of the screen.
